Kidz Act Up presents Willy Wonka, Jr at the Visionary Performance Space (8674 La Mesa Blvd, La Mesa, CA 91942) on May 17-25, 2024.   Bring your family and friends to enjoy as the diverse and talented children of Visionary School for the Performing Arts bring to the stage this family musical, directed and choreographed by Caryn Ipapo-Glass, with music direction by Cody Bianchi.

Willy Wonka Jr is a musical based on the Roald Dahl book “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory” and the 1971 film “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.” The story follows Charlie Bucket, a poor boy who wins a golden ticket to tour the mysterious candy factory of Willy Wonka. Along with four other children, Charlie experiences a magical and often dangerous adventure through Wonka’s factory, learning valuable lessons about honesty, kindness, and the true meaning of a “golden ticket.” The musical features songs from the film, as well as new songs written specifically for the stage production.
